Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Boca Raton, FL

The Yamato Colony has a complicated history with the American government more so Palm Beach County and the city of Delray Beach. During the Second World War, the land belongs to the colony and was confiscated by the government to be a training ground for the B-29 squadron. All the colony family members left other than George Morikami, who ironically remained behind to donate the rest of the land as a museum. The museum as you would expect is Japanese culture oriented institution that celebrates majority of the Japanese holidays and culture. With a small entrance fee, the park enables the visitor to enjoy a serene environment that has been designed and developed to showcase the best of the Contemporary Lacquer Sculpture, food, and historical artifacts.
